Directions

 

The Church of the Nazarene is located conveniently close to I-95 and the Florida Turnpike at 914 NE 4th St., Pompano Beach, Fl. 33060

 

·         Exit the turnpike (exit 66) or I-95 (exit 36) at Atlantic Blvd., and head east.

·         Go approximately 1.5 miles past I-95 to 11th Ave.

·         Turn left and go north on 11th Ave. to NE 4th St.

·         At 4th St., you will find a roundabout. At the roundabout turn left and go West on 4th St.

·         The Church is 2 blocks down on the left (south) side of street. Parking is available in the grass lot across the street.

 


Accommodations / Attractions

 

Staying in the South Florida area overnight? 

We recommend the La Quinta Inn located on Cypress Creek Road just west of Powerline Road.  Their address is 999 W. Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33309.  The telephone number is 954-491-7666. 

If you are planning on dining out after the show Las Olas Waterfront in Fort Lauderdale is located nearby as is the Hard Rock Casino with its many fine restaurants.  There is also a Hooters located nearby.  Just ask any Flight 19 member and they can give you directions.

Contest Rules

 

1.        No sweeps. An entrant may win only one award (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in each category, but all entries are eligible for Special Awards.

2.        No prior IPMS National or Regional winners may be entered in the contest. Prior winners are welcomed for display only.

3.        Models may be made of any material.

4.        No radio controlled or self-propelled vehicles.

5.        Juniors must be under the age of 17 the day of the show.

6.        Modelers who qualify as juniors may enter any category they wish. However, they may not enter any model in more than one category.

7.        Juniors will be eligible for Special Awards.

8.        Categories may be split, but no new categories will be created after registration closes.

9.        A collection is five or more closely related subjects and a collection will count as one entry.

10.     Judges may not judge in any category in which they have entered and may not vote in any Special Award for which they are being considered.

11.     Entrants may place their models in the category they choose, however, the head judge retains the option to place the entry in a more suitable category. An attempt will be made to inform the contestant in this eventuality.

12.     Models may be placed on a reasonably sized display base, however, bases and/or displays will not be judged except in the Diorama category.

13.     Display cases must be removed before judging begins or, the entry will not be judged.

14.     Out of the box (OOB) entries must include the instructions that came with the kit. The kit must commercially available. Seams may be filled, panel lines may be re-scribed, paper seatbelts and rigging may be added, and alternative decals may be used.

15.     Category A-10 (Biplane/Rigged) includes all WW1aircraft, and any aircraft constructed primarily of fabric and rigging.

16.     Proxy entries are welcomed. The registration fee is the same for all entrants.

17.     IPMS/Flight 19 reserves the right to remove, or, not be allowed to enter, any entry that may be perceived as being obscene or inappropriate. The President of Flight 19 will be the ultimate authority in this matter and is not required to provide a justification.

18.     Experienced Judges working under general IPMS guidelines emphasizing basic construction skills will conduct judging in a constructive and positive manner.

19.     The model room will not be closed during judging; however, entrants may not speak to or attempt to influence the judges, during the judging.

20.     Military diorama large format is two or more subjects and/or five or more figures.

21.     Aircraft with fuselage mounted engines will be considered single engine for contest purposes.
